SS Freestyle is seeking Development Team Coaches for "Learn to Train" stage skiers at Silver Star Mountain. Silver Freestyle Club performance programs consist of the following:
The Development Team coaches will have the following attributes:
Preparedness - assist in building a comprehensive plan for the season for their groups;
Coaching leadership- relentlessly collaborate with other Comp Team and Comp Snowboard team coaches;
Experience – intuitive decision making and communication skills to help lead this segment of the club;
Preservation- foster an existing inclusive and passionate competitive culture;
Connection– this person will work closely and respectfully with his or her group of athletes and parents;
Drive – this person will work with a team of coaches and volunteers to maintain a fast pace and fun operation of SS Freestyle programs.
Above all this person has to have passion for the sport of freestyle skiing and support all disciplines of skiing and snowboarding offered by the SS Freestyle Club.
Type of work: seasonal part-time contract.
Schedule: The position could start on a casual basis October 15, 2019. The coach will need to coach 2 to 3 days per week starting December 1, 2019. Weekly communication with team are required. Travel to Freestyle BC and IFSA competitions is required.
In Summary: SS Freestyle has some flexibility and the club is willing to cater some of the club needs to the strengths of the coach candidate.
