    Hi Everyone,

As per the Zoom meeting last evening, our meeting locations and overall plan will look a bit different than our typical weekend due to conditions and facility access.

Athletes, please come prepared both days this weekend with everything you’ll need to be on the hill for the day (face-mask, snacks, lunch, water, extra layers, spare gloves etc). While using the airbag, please ensure you have skis that don’t have edges sticking out.

South end of Parking Lot A at 8:30AM (near the start of Silver Lode Lane on the way in, see attached map).

    8:30 AM-Meet at Parking Lot A

    -Hike up as a group

    -Unroll Airbag

    -Rail session

    Approximately 11:30-12:15 Lunch

    1pm-3pm Airbag

3pm- Hike down to Parking Lot A (aiming to be the parking lot at approximately 3:15/3:20)

    8:30 AM-Meet at Parking Lot A

    -Hike up as a group

    -Rail session

    10:30-11 break

    11-1 Airbag Training

1-2:55 Freeskiing (Finish in the village)

This weekend we have the privilege to train on the airbag site and use the space for training. We’ll have the airbag set up and a PVC rail, currently we plan to have the large jump operating with the small one in the following week. The rest of the surrounding area is currently closed, we will hike in and out of the site for training. We cannot park and drop athletes off at Arnica Lane, we also aren’t permitted to ski down the runs in the area. Coaches will lead the group up and down from the site. We have a safety plan in place as well. Using this site will be a great opportunity to learn lots and get prepared for the competition season ahead.

Please have your athlete fill out our goal sheet if they haven’t already:

I look forward to seeing everyone this weekend, don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions!

    Hi Team,

I hope that everyone is doing well and staying healthy!

We will be filming our Virtual Timber Tour runs for moguls this Saturday, February 27th. Our schedule will align with our regular training plan, the only difference is that we will take an early lunch to lengthen our afternoon on the mogul course, 11:00-11:45.

We will be filming runs from 1:30-3:00pm on the mogul course. Due to covid we have to be very conscious about following the regulations therefore there’s no spectator gatherings at the finish, start or along the course.

We will be filming slopestyle and big air runs on March 6th, the schedule will align with our regular training times, if there’s any changes to this I’ll send out an update.

For all virtual events that we are filming:

-A start list has been created and includes a parent's email and phone number which will be used for the filmers to send you your child(ren)'s runs. These can then be submitted to FBC. Details on how to access the videos will be sent out.
-All athletes have a start time and will run in
the same order, essentially they will lap with their groups.

-The coaches will have their team in the staging area at the designated start time ready to go.

-All athletes will stay with their group all weekend and will run in the same order for each discipline (including next weekend) so that filmers can send the clips via email back to the athletes.

We're super excited and fortunate for this opportunity this season. I just want to also remind everyone that it’s all about having fun, it’s a fun event to showcase what we’ve been working on and keep the athletes engaged while we aren’t able to travel to events. Thank you to all of the parents, volunteers, coaches and board members for getting this organized.

Any questions, comments or concerns please let me know.

    Hi Team,

Looking forward to training this weekend!

We would like to request some help in the mornings this weekend to shovel off the airbag and get it inflated.

    On Saturday and Sunday:

    -From 8:00am to 10:00am MAX 10 people

-If there is no snow on the air bag we only need about 1-2 folks that know how to set up generators and fans.

RSVP to Wade (250) 550-5322 or

Wade won't be able to be there until a bit later.

The mountain has requested that any athletes getting dropped off to avoid the main Village Drop-off area and instead use the cul-de-sac off of Pinnacles or the area between Vance and Chilcoot lodge in front of Snowbird.

    Hi Team,

Really excited about our first few days of training! We were fortunate to have our airbag up and running for opening weekend (thank you to everyone involved) and we were able train on the rail near the airbag site practicing rail fundamental skills and any athlete goals. Fortunately we had good snow on the backside opening day, the athletes learned about focus and practiced applying different types of focus while skiing on the backside.

Just wanted to remind athletes to send in their athlete commitment contracts if they haven’t already. Please send them in before end of day Friday so that they can ski with the team on the weekend. We really want our athletes to be aware and respectful towards everyone on the hill and be a good representative of our program. This morning we emphasized that although we are excellent skiers, we are never too good to be respectful to other users on the hill. That we always want to look out for others and give them the time and space they need to ensure that everyone stays safe.

    Hi Team,

Reminder that we will meet at the Red Barn near the magic carpet tomorrow at 8:30am.

Meeting times and locations can be found here:

Make sure to keep 2 meter distancing, masks are mandatory and please don’t attend training if you have any symptoms.

Our Covid Safety plan is here:

For lunches we encourage athletes to go back to their place if they have that option, the barn is able to sit athletes and will be a place to drop bags, athletes can also sit outside the barn. I plan to sit outside the barn over lunch, I’d recommend packing some extra layers and dry gloves for over lunch. If athletes decide to use the barn, masks are required inside.

The plan for the morning is to work on free-ski/technical skiing until the airbag is running. In the afternoon we will be on the airbag and training on the rail set up. Please ensure athletes do not have any edges sticking out of their skis, I will also bring some tools along in case we need to smoothen anything out.

For coaches we have Caden Colmorgen joining our Comp Program this year, he’s coached with our club for a number of seasons and has been pursuing his air courses over the summer. For December we have Jackson Stewart joining our team on Saturdays, he will help provide technical skiing knowledge to our program through his experience in big mtn and racing. I look forward to what December brings!

If you have any questions, comments or concerns please let me know!
