What do I need in order to coach with SS Freestyle?

ALL NEW Coaches 

All NEW Freestyle SKI Coaches need to complete the following:  

All SNOWBOARD Coaches need the Comp-Intro Coach Course

ALL Coaches

Coaches 18 + years old MUST submit CRIMINAL RECORD CHECK to through Snowreg.
    • SS Freestyle requires a new Criminal Record Check every 2 years.
      • Method #1 Go to your RCMP detachment.  Apply for an Employer Criminal Record Check - this can take up to 3-6 weeks.  
      • Snowreg - will offer this service through "Sterling Back Check" when you purchase a Coach Membership.  This method will require you to get an ID verification at a Canada Post office.
    • Freestyle - Email your most up to date criminal record check to chris@freestylecanada.ski
    • Snowboard - TBA

      Hi Coaches,

      Well we are winding down the 2022 Freestylerz and Gteam programs. Two more weekends left. Thank you all for your excellent coaching and energy this season.  Here is some updates:

      • The hoodies are almost ready. Not sure if they will be here this weekend. But next week for sure.
      • The wrap-up weekend we will have the Skills Rodeo for Gteam and Freestylerz. The information regarding the event is here.  Please read the info. Please share the info with athletes in your groups:)  Try to let parents know about this at drop off and/or pick-up.
      • So that brings us to THIS weekend.  I am hoping we can have some or all of the Rodeo Skillz stations and Moguls Jam available this weekend.  Please plan to practice the skills stations so your skiers can do their best the following weekend.  No Air Bag this weekend for GT or FZ.

      SS Freestyle Send it Land It Nailed It

      • March 19-21 is the SS Freestyle Send it Land It Nailed It freestyle event.  We are looking for judges and coaches. This is a paid gig. Please email me directly if you are available to judge /and or coach over that weekend.
      • FINALLY - The Send It Land It Nailed It organizing committee has asked each coach to personally send athletes in their groups an invitation to this event.  By now everyone should have the email list for their groups.  Please confirm you can and will complete this task with either Kendall or Shane.       Please follow the Covid best practices.  Where a medical mask at all training sessions and in indoor and outdoor public areas.  Please use your safest judgement.

      • Invoice Due: Dec. 27

      Coaching Course Reimbursement

      For those that have taken coaching courses you are eligible for a 50% reimbursement.  This reimbursement will not include Fundamentalz course training fees.   First all coaches must have their coach development plan submitted and approved by the program director (Wade).  Please fill out the payment invoice and list your coach course in the expense section of the form.  There is no hourly compensation for taking coach training.  Contact Wade if you have questions.
