FUNDAMENTALZ
aka.
Jumps and Bumps

Registration will open Oct. 1 for the 2018 season.

NEW! Welcome to the Can Freestyle Fundamentalz program.  This is a transition year to the new branding of the widely successful Jumps and Bumps program where young skiers are taught Freestyle skiing skills using fun and safe progressions.  The skill range is from skiers who can load a chairlift unassisted and ski parallel on a green run up to advanced parallel skiers (see skills chart below).  These are half day sessions and run for 11 weeks:
  • Saturday AM - 8:45 AM to 11:45 AM
  • Saturday PM - 12:45 PM to 3:30 PM
  • Sunday AM - 8:45 AM to 11:45 AM
  • Sunday PM - 12:45 PM to 3:30 PM

All J&B's athletes will be grouped based on both skill level and which friends they would like to ski with.  Silver Star Freestyle Ski Club also recommends that participants play many sports like (but not limited to) soccer, martial arts, gymnastics, cycling and especially trampoline.  Silver Star Freestyle offers J&B's trampoline training as well.... Look for Jumps and Bounce programs.

The skills have been divided into Green/Blue/Black levels, which are outlined in the J&B Passport. Skiers will receive stickers as they learn, and passports to mark their progress at the end of the year.

For all day freestyle programs, check our Freestylerz or GTeam.  If you snowboard check out the Riders programs.

All SS Freestyle Ski programs will finish with our annual Hot Doggin' Mogul Event.

Common Questions

What is included? Each participant will receive a Silver Star Club Jersey to advertise our valued sponsors. The program includes coaching by a certified Club Freestyle Ski Coach and all participants get an SS Freestyle gift.

What does a J&B skier need to have? Skier MUST have their own ski pass, skis, poles, ski boots, helmet, goggles, gloves and be dressed for the weather conditions.

Do you ever cancel sessions? We try our best to run classes every week as scheduled.  In the event the temperature is -20 (or colder) with windchill we may cancel a session. In these cases the SSFSC will strive to make up missed sessions later in the season.  This may not be possible in all cases.

What if we are late?  Coaches meet their groups at 8:45 AM or 12:45 behind the guest services building.  If you are late and the groups have left the village you can bring your child over to the top of the old Air Bag site (next to the Magic Carpet). Usually a coach is available there 15 minutes after the program starts to help your child join their group.

Feel free to email our Program Director, Wade Garrod, at wade@ssfreestyle.com if you have any questions regarding this program.
